Hill’s Pet Nutrition has provided an update to its voluntary recall, first announced in February and expanded in March. A single lot code within an already recalled SKU of dog food was omitted from the original recall list.
The recall list on Hill’s website has been updated with this information. Hill’s says it’s unlikely any of the food from this new lot code remains commercially available and that there have been no reports of sick pets from this new lot code.
The information for this single lot code is as follows:

Date code/lot code: 102020T21
These recalls in recent months are due to elevated levels of Vitamin D in 25 varieties of therapeutic diets and over-the-counter canned dog food, cited by Hill’s as a supplier error.
Signs of excessive Vitamin D intake can include vomiting, appetite loss, weight loss, increased thirst and urination, and excessive drooling. Serious health issues, including renal dysfunction, may occur. In most cases, the company says, affected pets make a full recovery when they stop eating the affected foods.
